Manchester United takeover latest as fresh timeframe emerges and Glazer family concerns persist

A proposed takeover at Old Trafford is taking much, much longer than Manchester United fans wanted.

Having seemingly agreed to sell their stake last November, owners the Glazer family attracted formal bids from Sheikh Jassim from Qatar as well as British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe - through his INEOS company. However, significant updates since then have been few and far between as those involved play the waiting game.

United remain at a crossroads off the pitch under the American ownership. Naturally, given the red tape involved, there has also been radio silence from would-be owners Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim.

However, there are still one or two snippets floating around as the fan-base wait for something concrete. Here are the latest takeover headlines.

It has been claimed the Glazer family do not want to sell United despite what is an ongoing takeover process. As reported, Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim are the two frontrunners to assume control at Old Trafford and beyond with a proposed valuation for the club coming in around the £6billion-mark.

However, while speaking to Sky Sports, reporter Kaveh Solhekol stated that 'sources close to the Qatar offer' are anticipating one or two potential hiccups. He said: "A significant number of people involved in the process believe the Glazer family are not all committed to selling the club. Different members of the Glazer family own United and they are not all on the same page."
