Manchester United takeover latest as bidders 'remain in contact'

Manchester United supporters who are hopeful of a sale were offered another glimmer of hope in the last 24 hours.

Concerns regarding the Glazers' willingness to sell the club have been growing since Sunday when the Daily Mail reported the American family were ready to take the Reds off the market. Several reports from other media outlets have claimed both Raine Group, who are conducting the sale on behalf of United's owners, and bidders Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe were unaware of any changes to the sale process.

While Gary Neville remains convinced the club will be sold eventually, fans are worried considering official updates have been few and far between after the 'strategic review' was announced in November. But, there could be some slight comfort for United's fanbase following the most recent reports.

According to The Times, both Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe are in contact with the relevant parties surrounding the potential sale of United. They claim as recently as last week the bidders were spoke with Raine.

However, the two frontrunners are thought to be 'exasperated' by the slow nature of the takeover process and there is frustration regarding the lack of a decision from the current owners.
