Manchester United success in FA Cup final is untainted amid 115 charges hanging over Man City

Manchester United secured a stunning 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

City became the first team to win four successive Premier League titles this season and were heavy favourites to lift the FA Cup, but United delivered an outstanding performance.

Although Erik ten Hag faces an uncertain future as United manager and could be relieved of his duties, his tactics worked perfectly and City's threat was stifled for most of the game.

Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring in the first half and Kobbie Mainoo, his fellow academy graduate, extended United's advantage before half-time. Jeremy Doku scored in the 87th minute, which gave City a glimmer of hope, but that proved to be merely a consolation goal.

With just under 20 minutes remaining, Bruno Fernandes won a corner and punched the air. "Bruno, Bruno, Bruno," echoed around Wembley and United must do everything they can to keep their captain, who had the honour of being the first player to lift the FA Cup.
