Manchester United striker Anthony Martial 'a target' for two LaLiga clubs and more transfer rumours

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is a target for LaLiga clubs Sevilla and Valencia, according to reports.

According to Spanish outlet Todofichajes, both clubs are set to monitor the Frenchman's situation in the coming months, with the 26-year-old's contract at Old Trafford expiring in 2024 - although United do have an option to extend his deal by a further year.

Martial spent the second half of last season on loan at Sevilla, and the Andalusian club are keen to link-up with the forward once again. During his time in Spain, the France international registered one goal and one assist.

The former Monaco man came off the bench to score a brace for Erik ten Hag's side as the Reds lost 6-3 to Manchester City in the derby on Sunday afternoon.

Elsewhere, United boss Ten Hag has reportedly told the club's hierarchy not to hand out any new contracts until he has decided which players from his squad warrant a new deal.

The Telegraph report that the Dutchman is keen to move away from the notion of stockpiling players on large wages and lengthy contracts that may have created a negative environment.

Sources at the club claim that they have been 'bitten on the a*** by carrying people' in the past when they could have recruited additional players in recent transfer windows.

Several Reds players are out of contract in 2023, with Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot, Cristiano Ronaldo, Fred and David de Gea all coming to the end of their current deals.
