Manchester United had '€130m bid' for Joao Felix rejected and more transfer rumours

Manchester United had a reported bid of €130million (£113m) for Joao Felix rejected by Atletico Madrid this summer.

According to Spanish outlet AS (via Sport Witness), United were knocked back by Atletico as they offered a jaw-dropping amount for Felix ahead of the September 1 deadline. The report claims that while the Reds were in the Spanish capital negotiating over a deal for Casemiro, they also tried for the 22-year-old.

It is thought that Felix is unhappy with his lack of game time under Diego Simeone, with the Portuguese international only playing a full 90 minutes on one occasion so far this season. The versatile attacking midfielder failed to make it off the bench during Atletico's recent 0-0 draw against Club Brugge in the Champions League, and is becoming increasingly frustrated with his lack of minutes, particular during a World Cup year.

Elsewhere, Mundo Deportivo (via Caught Offside) report that United could make a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney in January.

They claim that any potential deal for Toney rests on Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford, as Erik ten Hag appears to get United's transfer plans ready behind the scenes should the 37-year-old leave the club in the upcoming window.

The Bees' striker has been in excellent form so far this season, earning a call-up to Gareth Southgate's England squad for the latest round of UEFA Nations League matches. Despite Toney not featuring for the Three Lions on that occasion, the 26-year-old is still one of the most sought after forwards in the Premier League, with United reportedly keeping a close on eye him ahead of the January transfer window.
