Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez explains how psychologist helps his 'world champion' attitude
Manchester United centre-back Lisandro Martinez has admitted that he works with a psychologist in the build-up to games to ensure that he is in the best possible condition.
The Argentine, who joined United a year ago from Dutch club Ajax, has established himself as a hugely popular figure at Old Trafford after a successful first season at the club. His never-say-die attitude and commitment to the cause is adored by United fans, resulting in him becoming a firm fans' favourite.
Martinez, who has made four starts during United's pre-season campaign so far, has brought passion and aggression to Old Trafford, two traits that were distinctly lacking prior to Erik ten Hag's appointment just over a year ago. He is one of the first names on the teamsheet and his style of play is impossible to ignore.
Though the 25-year-old is an immensely passionate and determined character, much of it extends from working with a psychologist, who helps prepare him for games, something that Martinez believes is key.

"I get up and go to sleep thinking that I am world champion. I work with my psychologist, which is how I try to disconnect everything," Martinez told Television Publica.
"Having a psychologist, doing therapy is essential. What you show on the pitch is what, more or less, you are in your personal life. I visualise before and during the matches."
As well as enjoying a successful maiden season at Old Trafford last term, helping United win the Carabao Cup and secure a route back into the Champions League, Martinez also experienced winning
