Manchester United's dream line-up with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and two more signings

With less than three weeks to go until the transfer window closes, time is running out for Manchester United to make the necessary additions to Erik ten Hag's squad.

United have drafted in just three new faces so far this summer, in the shape of Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen. While the aforementioned trio have each bolstered their respective positions, United still need to add fresh blood to other areas.

The club are desperate to strengthen their central-midfield options as their top priority and have been tracking Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong for three months. But considering they have made little progress during that time, United have started to explore alternative options.

But it is not just in midfield where United need fresh blood before the window slams shut; they also need fresh faces in attack, both out wide and up front. Speculation, as always, is rife, with countless players being linked with moves to Old Trafford.

However, some links carry much more substance than others, with Ten Hag last week reiterating that United must bring in the "right players" and not sign players for the sake of it. Although De Gea failed to cover himself in glory for Brighton's opening goal last weekend, he will be Ten Hag's first choice shot-stopper between the sticks this season, that there is no doubt about.
