Manchester United's downfall is highlighted by three alarming statistics
After the success of last season, few Manchester United supporters would have anticipated such a disastrous start to this campaign.
Wednesday night's 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in their opening game of their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign marked a fourth defeat in their opening six matches in all competitions, as well as a third on the bounce. United cannot seem to catch a break at the moment, and Saturday's trip to Burnley is already a must-win encounter.
United, just as they did against Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford last weekend, started the brighter in Munich and should have been ahead inside the opening five minutes. Facundo Pellistri was thwarted before Christian Eriksen was denied by goalkeeper Sven Ulreich.

That, despite United managing to score three goals in the second half, was as good as it got for Erik ten Hag and his players, who are now under intensive pressure to scoop all three points when they travel to Turf Moor at the weekend. A slow start is quickly turning into a disastrous one.
Granted, few anticipated that United, as a result of their current injury woes, would have gone to the Allianz Arena and won. A draw, being truthful, would have been a terrific result to start life back in Europe's premier club competition.
Having walked away with nothing after scoring three goals away from home, however, it does raise questions about this team's attitude and application. They are also continuing to capitulate when the going gets tough.
Much of United's success last term was built on their defensive solidity, keeping 28 clean
