Christian Eriksen reveals Manchester United dressing room mood after Galatasaray defeat

Christian Eriksen has admitted 'it was very quiet' in the Manchester United dressing room after defeat against Galatasaray.

After losing the opening Champions League group game against Bayern Munich, a win against Galatasaray at home was required and United made an excellent start to the match when taking the lead in the 17th minute.

Rasmus Hojlund found the back of the net with a powerful header, but the away side equalised just moments later and that happened again in the second half when the young striker scored his second, only for United to concede again.

The night then went from bad to worse when Andre Onana played a woeful pass into the feet of Dries Mertens, who was brought down in the box by Casemiro, who was shown his second yellow card sent off the pitch.

Although Mauro Icardi sent his penalty wide of the post, he redeemed himself minutes after that miss when dinking Onana with another chance to make it 3-2.

United have now lost both of their Champions League group games and they've suffered six defeats in their 10 games in all competitions, so it was no surprise to hear Eriksen reveal the dressing room was low in his interview with TNT Sports.

"It's a big disappointment," Eriksen said. "It was very quiet in the dressing room. I think we had some good spells in the game, but in the end, when we went ahead, we conceded shortly after and of course, that makes it difficult to stay in the game.
