Sergio Reguilon sends four-word message to Rasmus Hojlund after first Manchester United goal

Sergio Reguilon hopes that Rasmus Hojlund's goal against Bayern Munich on Wednesday evening will be the 'first of many'.

Hojlund opened his Manchester United account at the Allianz area during a 4-3 defeat in the Champions League group stages. The 20-year-old made it 2-1 shortly after half-time, his instinctive effort deflecting off Dayot Upamecano and past Sven Ulreich.

Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry had put Bayern 2-0 up at the break, with the momentum from Hojlund's goal quickly killed when Harry Kane arrowed a penalty past Andre Onana. A chaotic final few minutes saw Casemiro net twice, with substitute Mathys Tel keeping Thomas Tuchel's side ahead.

It was a bittersweet evening for Hojlund, who was able to get off the mark for his new club after seeing his effort against Brighton last weekend chalked off. And despite the disappointing result, Reguilon hopes there will be plenty more to come from his new teammate.

Alongside a picture of himself and Hojlund, the United left-back wrote on his official Instagram: "First of many bro [red heart emoji]".

Reguilon and Hojlund were a rare bright spark in an otherwise disappointing evening in Munich, with the 4-3 scoreline somewhat flattering Erik ten Hag's side. After a strong start to the game, two soft goals allowed Bayern to get a grip of the game and they should have scored more.
