Manchester United's clear transfer window plan compared to Liverpool, Arsenal and top flight rivals

Manchester United are closing in on their final key summer transfer target but that has not been the case for some of their Premier League rivals.

Andre Onana has already demonstrated his winning mentality and commitment to Erik ten Hag’s style of play in pre-season, having replaced long-standing number one David De Gea. In midfield, United were committed to bringing in Mason Mount from Chelsea, with the manager telling the 24-year-old that he expects him to become a key part of his team.

The impending arrival of Rasmus Hojlund will mean United finally have a much-needed striker added to their ranks, ensuring that there are no major holes within the squad. And the business will have been wrapped up early, with the season opener more than a week away.

United will be seeking to close the gap on champions Manchester City and ensure they remain in the top four in the face of a wave of competition. And it's been a mixed bag on the transfer front for their rivals.
