Manchester United's chances of signing Frenkie de Jong, Antony latest and club captaincy stance
Manchester United recorded their first Premier League victory of the season on Monday evening, beating Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford.
Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford scored either side of the half-time interval to secure a fully deserved victory for Erik ten Hag's side, who dominated the contest from the very first whistle. Liverpool pulled a goal back through Mohamed Salah late on but they had very few answers for the problems United put to them.
It was the Reds' best performance for several months, meaning Ten Hag got the reaction he was looking for after the 4-0 horror show at Brentford nine days earlier. United played with purpose and hunger, meaning they became the first Premier League side to beat Liverpool this calendar year.
