Manchester United's Champions League form could derail Erik ten Hag's Premier League plans
Manchester United travelled away to Galatasaray hoping to extend their stay in the Champions League this season by securing a vital win.
But things didn't work out for the Reds, who grew their lead to 2-0 within 18 minutes through brilliant efforts from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes, before capitulating to a 3-3 draw. United avoided a loss but blew a two-goal lead on in an incredible night in Istanbul, meaning their knockout hopes will be over unless Copenhagen and Galatasaray draw and the Reds manage to beat Bayern Munich in the final round of fixtures.
With the players returning home from an atmospheric night in Istanbul with just a point, they will no doubt be gutted that they weren’t able to convert their chances into a win, scoring three goals but once again failing to secure victory on the road in the Champions League. United twice held a two-goal lead against Galatasaray, but two errors by Andre Onana seem to have cost Erik ten Hag’s side progression in Europe.
