Borussia Dortmund verdict on Jadon Sancho amid Manchester United loan exit

Jadon Sancho has hit the right notes with Borussia Dortmund fans in his first two games since his loan switch from Manchester United.

The winger has an assist in each outing so far and is showing glimpses of the talent that first attracted the eye of United in 2021. Sancho has not lived up to his £73million price tag at Old Trafford with just 12 goals and six assists in 82 matches.

Prior to his switch back to Germany, the 23-year-old had not played since August amid his fall-out with Erik ten Hag. The England international was exiled for refusing to apologise after accusing the boss of lying about why the forward was dropped from the squad against Arsenal in September.

Steve: My initial thoughts were of scepticism. Sancho hasn't played much and I thought it would be a challenge for him to get up to speed. When it was clear there was no option to buy I was even more dismayed. It seems like we are just helping Manchester United get a player they don't really want to sell. However, his performance over these first two games have allayed my concerns. I am happy to have him back.
