Manchester United ‘preparing’ £107m bid for Victor Osimhen and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly pulling together a £107m bid for Napoli sensation Victor Osimhen.

The attacker is on Erik ten Hag’s shortlist of potential summer striker targets alongside Harry Kane and others. The Nigerian has scored eight goals in his past six Serie A matches and is the league’s top scorer with 17 strikes

Napoli are 15 points clear at the top of the table having lost just once in the league all season and the club are said to be determined to keep him beyond the summer. However, Osimhen, 24, is expected to be the subject of several bids from European giants, including Liverpool and United.

Indian outlet Calciomercato claims the Reds are compiling a bid worth £107m, which would make him tied with Chelsea January recruit Enzo Fernandez as the most expensive player in Premier League history.

Meanwhile, Football Insider claims United are tracking Real Valladolid defender Ivan Fresneda ahead of a possible summer move. United may opt to look for more options at right-back to support Diogo Dalot despite Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s sturdy form since the World Cup.

United have reportedly sent scouts to keep tabs on Fresneda, who has played 12 times this season after making his breakthrough from the youth ranks, featuring against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid while also keeping a clean sheet against high-flying Real Betis.

The four-cap Spain Under-19 international is also of interest to Arsenal, the report says. Last month, Fresneda’s agent said that “around 30 teams” have penned an interest in the teenager, despite being contracted at his current employers until 2025.
