Manchester United predicted line-up vs Lyon as Lisandro Martinez and Mason Mount start

Manchester United will be looking to step up their pre-season preparations when they face French outfit Lyon in their second friendly at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on Wednesday afternoon.

United, who will fly to the United States after the game for the beginning of their pre-season tour, will be looking to build on last week's 2-0 win over Leeds United. Second-half goals from Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill sealed a routine win for the Reds, who deployed a different XI in each half.

Manager Erik ten Hag has named a 24-man squad for the tussle with Lyon, who are managed by former United defender Laurent Blanc, welcoming the likes of Donny van de Beek and Antony into the fold after they missed the clash with Leeds through injury. United welcomed their international contingent back to Carrington over the weekend, but nobody from that group will feature in Edinburgh.

It means those that featured against Leeds last week, particularly the younger players who were included in the squad that travelled to Oslo, will be aiming to try and grab Ten Hag's attention for a second time. Those that were on international duty last month are set to make their first appearances of pre-season against Arsenal in New Jersey on Saturday.

As was the case against Leeds last week, Ten Hag could decide to rotate his entire XI midway through the clash at Murrayfield and hand out as many opportunities as possible to members of his squad.
