Players tipped early Antony impact

Manchester United players were confident Antony would have an impact on his debut against Arsenal due to his impressive performances on the Carrington training ground.

The 22-year-old started on the right-hand side and curled in United's opening goal in their 3-1 win to end Arsenal's winning start in the Premier League this season.

Antony completed his £85.51million transfer to United on deadline day, having arrived in Manchester towards the start of last week. He trained individually on Thursday and then completed two sessions with his new teammates.

Neville makes Rashford tactical claim

Gary Neville reckons Marcus Rashford is better suited to playing as a central striker after starting up front again for Manchester United during their 3-1 statement win over Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Rashford, 24, struggled throughout the 2021/2022 campaign and only netted five times in all competitions, but the England player has been revived since Erik ten Hag stepped into the dugout. After impressing on the left-hand side in pre-season, Rashford has operated in a more central role this campaign with Anthony Martial out injured.

Both of his goals against Arsenal, though, came while he was playing off the flank, after Cristiano Ronaldo came on with 58 minutes on the clock against the table-topping Gunners.
