Ahead of potential super fight, pundits compare Fury, Joshua’s earnings

Tyson FURY has officially called out Anthony Joshua for a heavyweight blockbuster fight in the United Kingdom in a bout, which looks like it could finally happen, writes manchestereveningnews.co.uk.

The Gypsy King has made his intentions clear to remain in boxing after declaring he will retire following his win over Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium, London.

This is coming after Fury became aware that a bout with Oleksandr Usyk will not happen until next year, with the Ukrainian reportedly injured from the fight with Joshua.

Both Fury and Joshua have discussed the potential of a fight for many years, with one looking likely in 2021. However, Deontay Wilder enforced a rematch clause, which put a fight on hold. And after Joshua lost to Usyk, before going on to lose the rematch, it looked like one may never happen.

But with Fury now calling Joshua out yesterday, it now may actually happen. It’s a fight that will be extremely lucrative for both fighters, with both likely to make at least £30 million for the fight.

Fury’s reported net worth of £130 million comes from the money he made in his trilogy bouts with Deontay Wilder, as well as his last bout with Whyte – in those fights alone making just short of £100 million.

His 27 other bouts will have seen him make millions, as well as his exploits outside of the ring – including his two best-selling books and a new release of an energy drink Furocity Energy.

Joshua is believed to have a net worth of about £118 million, with the 32-year-old making around £40 million from his latest fight against Usyk.

Joshua also received big paydays from his wins over Wladimir Klitschko, Andy Ruiz Jr and Alexander Povetkin.
