Manchester United player ratings vs West Ham with five 4/10s but Amad good in latest defeat
Manchester United suffered their 17th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday as they lost 2-0 to West Ham.
The Hammers took the lead in the first half as Mohammed Kudus’s low cross was turned in by Tomas Soucek.
United were handed a huge injury worry in the second half as Leny Yoro had to be replaced by Harry Maguire. The defender was holding his left foot as he sat on the Old Trafford turf before heading straight down the tunnel.
Jarrod Bowen added to United’s misery shortly after Yoro’s withdrawal as he made it 2-0 to the visitors.
Here are how the players rated at Old Trafford:
Altay Bayindir
Inexplicably rotated back into the team and unconvincing yet again. Failure to catch a cross even contributed to Bowen's goal. 5
Noussair Mazraoui
A surprising starter after Ruben Amorim fretted over his fitness in midweek and he looked fatigued as he completed the whole game. 4
Leny Yoro
Tried to make things happen with progressive passes before he got injured within the first five minutes of the second half and was forced off. 6
Luke Shaw
Came off at the same time as Yoro, seemingly to protect him if he is a contender to start the Europa League final at Yoro's expense. 5
Amad
His first start in three months came on the wing and he drew the only save from Alphonse Areola in the first half before being outmuscled by Kudus for the first goal. Created a chance for Rasmus Hojlund. 7
Bruno Fernandes
Dropped back into midfield next to Manuel Ugarte and the pair were outmatched by Soucek and James Ward-Prowse. 4
Manuel Ugarte
Easily robbed of the ball by Aaron Wan-Bissaka for Bowen's goal. Symbolised this United side: can cope in Europe but not in domestic competition. Immediately substituted. 4
Harry Amass
Souc
