Manchester United player ratings vs ASEAN All-Stars with seven 5/10s in friendly defeat
Manchester United kicked off their post-season tour with a 1-0 defeat to ASEAN All-Stars in Kuala Lumpur.
The game was played at a slow pace with United coming closest in the first half as Kobbie Mainoo’s strike was blocked on the line.
As promised before kick-off, Ruben Amorim made plenty of changes during the game. Bruno Fernandes was introduced for the second half and he lashed an effort over just before the hour mark.
Maung Maung Lwin put ASEAN All-Stars 1-0 up with 20 minutes to play with a cool finish.
Here are how the players rated at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium:
Andre Onana
Onana had his name chanted for the first time in United colours. Had to make a save before he made way at half-time. 6
Ayden Heaven
Had to step up as the most senior centre back after Harry Maguire went off and had another decent shift. 6
Harry Maguire
Captained United for the first time as a starter since he was stripped of the captaincy in July 2023. Crowd loudly cheered his early touches of the ball. 6
Reece Munro
A raw inclusion in the back three but looked more assertive as the first half developed before he came off at the interval. 6
Diogo Dalot
Put in a decent cross during his 30-minute run-out before he was afforded a breather ahead of another match in Hong Kong on Friday. 6
Casemiro
Took it easy after his recall to the Brazil national squad following a 19-month exile. Came off after 30 minutes. 6
Manuel Ugarte
Did not particularly distinguish himself and Amorim outstretched his arms in exasperation after one Ugarte pass. 5
Patrick Dorgu
More direct on the ball than he has been of late but did not create anything memorable. 6
Jack Moorhouse
One of two starters who had never appeared for the first team before.
