Manchester United vs West Ham highlights and reaction as Soucek and Bowen score in away win

Manchester United suffered a 17th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday afternoon, losing 2-0 to West Ham United at Old Trafford.

Goals from Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen either side of half-time condemned United to yet more domestic disappointment, leaving them 16th in the table with two games left to play.

Despite naming a stronger starting XI than what many people anticipated, head coach Ruben Amorim will have been hugely disappointed with the performance served up from his players, who failed to build on the 4-1 win they recorded over Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League less than 72 hours earlier.

As a result, United, for the first time since the inaugural Premier League season in 1992/93, have now gone seven league games without a victory, losing five. West Ham had not previously won since February 27.

Next up for United is Friday night's trip to Chelsea for their final away league game of the campaign, with the trip to Stamford Bridge marking their final outing ahead of the Europa League final.

A West Ham staff member said to a colleague at half-time, "If we win, we'll rinse this." West Ham had won four
