Manchester United player ratings vs Rangers as Leny Yoro good and Amad excellent

Manchester United claimed their first win of pre-season with a 2-0 victory against Scottish Premiership side Rangers at Murrayfield, thanks to goals from Amad and Joe Hugill.

United were playing in the home of Scottish rugby for the second summer in a row with Rangers' Ibrox home undergoing redevelopment and it proved a comfortable afternoon, with £58.9m new boy Leny Yoro the star attraction. The teenager produced a stylish first-half performance.

Amad was the star of the show in the first half, taking his goal superbly, while Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho also looked bright. Erik ten Hag had criticised his team's performance in Norway on Monday night but he would have been pleased with the improvements on show here.

Andre Onana

Loose with a couple of kicks in the first half but solid with the routine saves he had to make, mostly from distance. 6

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Got forward fairly well down the right and defended solidly, with Rangers often going down the other flank. 6

Leny Yoro

A very stylish introduction. Two impressive moments defensively and used the ball well, aside from one late giveaway in the first half. 7

Jonny Evans

Held Yoro to account for that mistake and again defended like the experienced leader he is. Solid. 7

Sam Murray

Used the ball well and built on the chance he got in Norway. Could make an impact at left-back with Shaw absent and Malacia working his way back. 7

Casemiro

Was robbed by Diomande creeping up on him early on and wasted one chance with an overhit pass to Wan-Bissaka, but did find his range late in the first half. 6
