Manchester United player ratings vs Brentford as Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund good

Manchester United beat Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead late in the first half through Ethan Pinnock. United were temporarily down to 10 men after Matthijs de Ligt had to leave the field for treatment following an earlier collision with Kevin Schade and Brentford took full advantage to score from a corner while De Ligt was off the pitch.

Alejandro Garnacho equalised just two minutes into the second half with a fine strike before Rasmus Hojlund secured the three points for United with a dinked finish.

Here are how the players rated.

Andre Onana

Made a routine stop in the first half and had little to do as Brentford seldom threatened. Had no chance for Ethan Pinnock's goal. 6

Diogo Dalot

Did not put up a fight with Pinnock from the corner Brentford scored from. Had a good chance in the second half from a long ball. 5

Matthijs de Ligt

It was not his fault the medical staff needed three attempts to patch him up, preventing him from defending the corner Pinnock scored from. Excelled once his head injury was sorted. 7

Jonny Evans

Continued at centre back. Irked an impatient crowd with a backward pass inside the Brentford third but this was another assured performance. 7

Lisandro Martinez

Switched to left back and settled after a tricky opening 20 minutes against Bryan Mbeumo. A steady shift away from his prime position. 6

Casemiro

Played some decent threaded passes and Brentford were not as aggressive as they were when he was hooked at half-time last year. Came off injured late on. 6

Christian Eriksen

Started for the seventh time
