Manchester United player ratings as Diogo Dalot good but Antony awful vs Man City

Manchester United squandered a half-time lead to lose 3-1 to Manchester City in a pulsating encounter at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The Manchester derby was lit up by two wonderful goals from Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden, who both produced stunning strikes into the same top corner either side of half-time.

Rashford answered his critics in some style with a raking drive inside 10 minutes to give United the lead, but they were pegged back in the second half by Foden's wonderful finish. The City forward grabbed his second late on and Erling Haaland added a third in stoppage time.

The defeat, their second successive league setback after Fulham beat Erik ten Hag's side last weekend, leaves United sixth in the Premier League standings, 11 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Andre Onana: Exhibited his dexterous distribution to find Bruno Fernandes for the opening goal and made some vital saves before half-time but he should have saved Phil Foden's winner. 6

Diogo Dalot: Dominated his duel with Jeremy Doku, the first player to be hooked by Pep Guardiola, and embarked on some adventurous forages. 7

Raphael Varane: Put his brittle body on the line time and again amid City's dominance of the ball. Saw out the game for his second 90 minutes in a week. 7

Jonny Evans: Another start against testing opposition and Evans was excellent in the first half. Unsurprisingly tired and made way after 69 minutes. 7

Victor Lindelof: Had one of his most comfortable halves at left-back, despite Phil Foden's big chance. Could not keep up with Foden when he cut inside to equalise. 6

Casemiro: Positioned himself
