Manchester United pass Women's Champions League test against Paris Saint-Germain

Manchester United passed their inaugural Champions League test with a draw against Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday night.

PSG’s Tabitha Chawinga met a ball over the top of Millie Turner and Maya Le Tissier, splitting the two centre-halves and tucked the ball neatly into the back of the net before the hour mark. However, Melvine Malard found the reply with 20 minutes left, nudging the ball over the line from a Katie Zelem corner to end United's Champions League debut with a deserved draw.

Marc Skinner took the usual starting XI and upended it to involve Lisa Naalsund, and Jayde Riviere in an attacking role and traded Geyse for Lucia Garcia up top which gave the home side a breath of fresh air, albeit nervy in possession. Mary Earps kept the home side in the game with several strong parries to deny Sandy Baltimore and others as it took the Reds time to warm up to the pressure of the Champions League level.
