Bake Off fans cast North West contestant as surprising sex symbol

The Great British Bake Off isn't where people tend to go for eye candy - unless it's of the food porn variety. But now, a few shows deep into series 14, there is one competitor making viewers blush.

As part of bread week, the bakers were tasked with creating the perfect loaf, followed by Devonshire splits. For the bread section, Dan Hunter added wild garlic and rosemary to his loaf.

It was well received by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, although the Liverpudlian bread guru did give the 42-year-old civil engineering resource planner from Cheshire the nod to mix it better next time.

But it was as Dan was plotting his loaf that his preparation for this particular bake came to light. And it's fair to say that there was a feeling of pleasure which descended over the country.

Paul Norcross-King @PJNorcrossKing was the first to leap in on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, saying: "@BritishBakeOff Dan says he forages in leopard-print Speedos. We REALLY need to see pictures. It’s a necessity. Absolutely. #GBBO"

Col @c_l84 was just as taken, adding: "Dan in Speedos [heart eye emoji] there’s an image #GBBO"

Ian from Beanies Masato @beanies_masato said: "Not gonna lie, Dan in leopard skin Speedos… Ian #GBBO" with a gif saying 'I would like to see it'.

And even brands were getting in on the action, with innocent drinks @innocent posting: "Dan taking his jumper off in the Bake Off tent is basically a British striptease. #GBBO"

In a programme that's known for its innuendo - from 'soggy bottoms' to 'it's about making both the balls quite tight', one viewer spotted their favourite Dan-related quote from this episode.
