Manchester United 'open talks' with Harry Maguire replacement and other transfer rumours
Manchester United have reportedly 'opened talks' with a replacement for their captain Harry Maguire.
Maguire has faced plenty of criticism for his performances this season from supporters and pundits. During United's defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, fans cheered when he was replaced by Juan Mata with six minutes to go.
According to the Daily Express via Four Four Two, United officials are speaking to Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji over a move to Old Trafford. Akanji has made 150 appearances for the Bundesliga giants since moving to Germany from FC Basel in 2018.

It is reported that, at 26, the Swiss defender would partner Raphael Varane at the back next campaign. Meanwhile Paul Pogba reportedly 'continues to nurture' a love for his old club Juventus.
Calciomercato claim that his post on Instagram as United travelled to Atalanta in the Champions League this season is proof that he wants to return to Serie A. But according to the Italian news source, a return to his former side maybe trickier than he would like.
Juventus are reportedly wary about his inconsistent performances and injury concerns from this campaign. Calciomercato add that the Old Lady ‘have to evaluate’ the situation ‘very carefully’ before moving to sign him.
