Manchester United midfielder Fred sends FA Cup warning to Man City and Erling Haaland

Manchester United midfielder Fred insists his side have nothing to fear when they face Manchester City and Erling Haaland in the FA Cup final.

City will head to Wembley looking to complete a domestic double, adding an FA Cup to last weekend's Premier League triumph. Pep Guardiola's side lifted the trophy for a third consecutive season on Sunday, with Arsenal's defeat at Nottingham Forest the day before leaving them unable to close the gap.

However, sights are set higher than the double, with a place in the Champions League final against Inter Milan handing City the chance of a historic treble, matching the feat achieved by their Manchester rivals in 1999.

Erik ten Hag's side will be even more motivated for the clash, wanting silverware of their own while hoping to end their rivals' treble chances. And Brazil international Fred has warned City that his side are not fearful of Haaland, who they managed to keep quiet in a 2-1 win in January.

"From my point of view, Manchester City play the best football in the world at the moment," Fred told FourFourTwo. "Under Pep Guardiola, an outstanding coach, they’ve won loads of titles with a very clear playing style.

"They know how to maintain possession – it’s so tough to face them. But it’s not impossible. We lost when we played them away this season, but we beat them at home with Haaland on the pitch.

"Yes, I agree that he’s the world’s best forward right now, but we’re Manchester United, and if we’re able to play our best football then I don’t see why we can’t win."

Haaland did score a hat-trick in his first Manchester derby back in October, with Phil Foden also netting three in an incredible 6-3
