Manchester United may already possess the goalscoring gem that will save them millions
With concerns over the transfer budget that Manchester United may have for the coming year, they may have to once again look to their academy talent to provide alternative options to bolster Amorim’s squad.
One of the most talented players in the Carrington set-up is 17-year-old striker Chido Obi-Martin who has been making headlines for his goal scoring prowess as of late.
Obi-Martin started his youth career at Danish giants FC Copenhagen before moving to England in 2022, joining Arsenals academy set up.
The Dane shone at Arsenal, netting 32 goals in just 20 games in the u18 Premier League in the 2023/24 season, making him the top scorer in the competition last season.
Remarkably, Obi-Martin bagged 10 goals in a single game against Liverpool which made his name appear across social media with fans amazed by his feat of goalscoring genius.
Upon the expiry of his deal with The Gunners, the talented striker made the move up north to Old Trafford with United fans excited at the prospect of another talent joining the u18s squad who stormed to the title last season, only suffering one defeat in the campaign before beating Chelsea in the national final at Stamford Bridge.
The 17-year-old netted a hat-trick on debut for United u18s with his first goal being scored within 13 seconds of kick- off against Nottingham Forest at Carrington.
The second and third goals swiftly followed with Obi-Martin completing his first half hat-trick inside 15 minutes of his first appearance in a United shirt.
His five goals in the league in five matches for United this season has resulted in the Danish youth international becoming the all-time top scorer in the u18 Premier League making him a valuable asset to have under contract at the club.
