Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag drops transfer hint ahead of deadline day

Erik ten Hag has indicated Manchester United will make at least one signing before the transfer window closes on Friday.

United are expected to bring in Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayındir as Dean Henderson is expected to join Crystal Palace, while Ten Hag is keen on a left-back as Luke Shaw is expected to be sidelined for around two months with a muscular injury.

Although United brought in Mason Mount to reinforce their midfield, they have been in the market for a second midfielder throughout the summer and Mount is out injured until next month.

Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman was in the directors' box at Old Trafford for United's 3-2 comeback win over Nottingham Forest and Henderson's 12-year association with United has effectively ended. Henderson was mingling with former Forest teammates in the Old Trafford tunnel after full-time.
