Manchester United make decision on Anthony Martial after Sevilla loan

Manchester United plan on keeping Anthony Martial next season, despite the uncertainty over who will manage the club.

The Frenchman was given permission to join Sevilla on loan in January after asking to leave Old Trafford during talks with Ralf Rangnick.

The German saw little reason in keeping an unhappy player but United have struggled in front of goal in Martial’s absence, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring just once in his last ten matches.

United plan on signing a striker this summer but they’re yet to make an announcement over who will manage the club.

Mauricio Pochettino is the current favourite to take charge but Erik Ten Hag is under consideration, and any decision over Martial’s future will ultimately be left with the manager.

But United are operating under a new structure and Rangnick, who will take on a two-year consultancy role at the end of the season, will be given a say on players.

Football Director Darren Fletcher will also be given a say and the club’s preference is to keep Martial, according to the Daily Mail.

The former Monaco ace has impressed in Spain and is open to staying at the club beyond the end of the season.

But there’s set to be plenty of exits elsewhere at the club this summer, with Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani and Juan Mata all set to leave for free.

Donny van de Beek, Phil Jones and Nemanja Matic could also depart.
