Manchester United have transfer edge on rivals in Jude Bellingham battle believes ex-striker

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes the Reds will have a better chance of attracting the likes of Jude Bellingham when they secure Champions League qualification.

The Manchester Evening News understands Erik ten Hag wants at least two significant signings in the summer to maintain the Reds' momentum next season. The club are targeting a new striker and a midfield reinforcement, while United could also make a move for a new centre back if captain Harry Maguire leaves Old Trafford.

While it is understood that Harry Kane is the Reds' prime striker target to reinforce Ten Hag's attack in the summer, United have been linked with a host of midfielders. Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham is one of the players touted with a potential move to the club, with England teammate Declan Rice also rumoured to be of interest.

During an interview with OLGB, ex-United ace Saha was asked if the Reds are a more attractive prospect for Bellingham than Liverpool and Chelsea if Ten Hag's men qualify for the Champions League and their Premier League rivals don't.

"Once Manchester United qualify for the Champions League, it won't only be Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice that will be more keen to come to Manchester, it can help with other players like Harry Kane," Saha said. "They will be seen as a team back in-form that has the whole package.

"It’s very possible that Bellingham and Rice will want to be up for the challenge of bringing Manchester United back to the very top. Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen may also want to be a part of that. I am not biased, but this is the reality. At this point in time, I feel there is no better club to join."
