Manchester United have a player who is becoming impossible to ignore

Manchester United's Under-19s made a storming start to their UEFA Youth League campaign on Wednesday night, beating FK Zalgiris 5-2 in Lithuania.

Becoming the first United team to play in the Baltic state, the youngsters were far too strong for their hosts, ensuring they will take a commanding lead into the second leg of their second round tie at Leigh Sports Village next month.

As is becoming an all too familiar theme when United's youngsters are involved, it was talented striker Gabriele Biancheri that lapped up most of the headlines, scoring a brace. Ethan Williams, who also scored two, and James Scanlon joined him on the scoresheet.

As a result of his fourth brace of the season, Biancheri, who celebrated turning 18 last month, is now up to 14 goals for United at youth level this season. He has scored five times in the Under-18s Premier League, three times in the Under-18s Premier League Cup, twice in the UEFA Youth League and once for the Under-21s in the Premier League 2.

Furthermore, he has also scored two goals in his last two appearances for Wales' Under-19s, scoring both against Italy. Scoring goals at a rapid rate for both club and country, it is little wonder United staff are hugely excited by his potential.

Signed from Cardiff City in February 2023, the Welshman, who has scored 21 goals in 28 league appearances for the Under-18s, is becoming impossible to ignore. His development is gathering speed and the nature of his performances are getting better and better.
