Maguire's redemption
This was the first time Harry Maguire had started three games in a row for Manchester United under Erik ten Hag and the fact he turned into the matchwinner was another chapter in his ongoing redemption tale at Old Trafford.
Maguire's stock was so low in the summer United tried to sell him to West Ham and he started the season in a battle with Jonny Evans to avoid becoming the fifth-choice centre-back. But right now he should be looking forward to a prolonged run in this team and he is one of the form players.
The 30-year-old was solid against Brentford and Sheffield United and at Bramall Lane on Saturday he looked particularly good in possession as well as relishing those defensive battles. FC Copenhagen gave United the runaround at times at Old Trafford and Maguire's poor clearance led to them hitting the post inside five minutes.

But again he recovered from an early error to look assured defensively and he made a difference at the other end, as he often can do when at his best. His goal has kept United's Champions League hopes alive.
With Lisandro Martinez set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Maguire now deserves to be ahead of Lindelof and should be Raphael Varane's partner for the foreseeable future. This is as well as he's played since before the Europa League final in 2021.
