Manchester United handed fresh Ruben Amorim verdict amid major injury 'boost'

Doubts over Ruud van Nistelrooy's future remain as he will be in charge of his final game for Manchester United in the visit of Leicester City before the international break.

Ruben Amorim will take over at Old Trafford next Monday (November 11), and there are question marks over the former Reds striker Van Nistelrooy. The Portuguese manager will bring in his coaching staff, whom have been with him since his early coaching days at Casa Pia.

He will have just under two weeks to work with his new players during this month's international break. However, there is expected to be some key absences in the squad as they will be representing their national team.

Amorim will then take charge of his first game against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on November 24. With that said, MEN Sport has taken a look at some of the latest United headlines.

Former Southampton centre-back Jose Fonte has shared further insight on Amorim. Speaking to BBC Radio Five live, the former Portugal international said: "It was only a question of time that he would be moving to a bigger club," said Fonte. "What I like about him is that he has his philosophy, he has his own ideas. I was speaking with one of his ex-players, Luis Neto, and he was telling me that he’s one of them managers that has this attention to detail, you know, and sometimes it can be even a little bit too much, he was telling me.
