Manchester United fans react to Antonio Conte quit threat at Tottenham amid new manager search

Manchester United fans differ over whether they should hire Antonio Conte as their next manager as the Italian threatens to quit Tottenham after a fourth defeat in five games.

The current Spurs boss was left furious after his side were defeated by Burnley thanks to a Ben Mee header on Wednesday night, bringing the club back down to earth after a thrilling 3-2 win at champions and title favourites Manchester City.

Speaking post-match a downbeat and frustrated Conte hinted at potentially resigning as manager following the result.

"Maybe I am not so good [at my job], " Conte suggested to reporters. "Tottenham called me to improve the situation but I'm too honest to close my eyes, you understand?

"And to continue to say 'okay but... I want to finish my season in this way but my salary is good'. No I am not this type of person.

"I have ambition, I hate to lose and we lost, I repeat four out of the last five games and I won't accept this.

"I want to try to move the situation and to also make an assessment to the club."

Reaction from United fans to Conte's emotional outburst, along with his impact at Spurs, has been mixed with some ready to welcome him to Old Trafford and others hoping he stays away.
