Kieran Trippier reveals Eddie Howe verdict and makes big Newcastle United fans claim

Kieran Trippier has lifted the lid on Eddie Howe and admitted that the Newcastle players ‘love’ working under their new manager.

The Three Lions right-back is currently injured with a broken metatarsal but has quickly become a fans’ favourite on Tyneside due to his immediate impact on the pitch.

Two free-kick goals against Everton and Aston Villa means Trippier has already scored half of his Premier League goals in a Newcastle shirt. A remarkable stat, considering he has only played four times in black and white.

The 31-year-old - who has vowed to support his teammates as much as he can while injured - thinks only one man deserves credit for the Magpies’ turnaround.

“I've worked with the manager before so I know what to expect,” Trippier told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“The training has been tough. Since I arrived, the team has become so much fitter, so much stronger, (and) organised. That comes from the manager so he deserves huge credit.

“He’s the type of manager that wants to be on the front foot and play attractive football. All the lads are loving training and they love the manager.”

Trippier has also been blown away by the atmosphere inside the ground since he made the £12million switch from Atletico Madrid last month.

Despite playing in World Cup semi-finals, a European Championship final, Madrid and North London derbies, the defender claims he has not experienced anything like a full house at St James’ Park.

“There's a real buzz around the city,” he added.

“The stadium, with the fans being electric, it’s something I’ve probably not experienced in my career. I've played in some good stadiums but Newcastle's is up there.
