Manchester United fans' $98m Randal Kolo Muani transfer concern has already been addressed

Manchester United's off-field takeover saga may be dominating the minds of supporters at present but thoughts are never too far away from player recruitment.

Erik ten Hag has clearly identified where the Reds need to strengthen in the transfer window once his budget has been confirmed for the summer. Top of his list will be a new striker after the gap left by Cristiano Ronaldo was only temporarily filled by Wout Weghorst.

MEN Sport understands United want to add two forwards to his squad. Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane is thought to be the top priority but there are worries chairman Daniel Levy will not negotiate a sale.

Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani is also a player of interest after he impressed in the Bundesliga. Last month, Frankfurt's CEO Axel Hallmann set a price tag of more than €90m ($98m) for the club talisman.

This figure caused concern with some sections of the United fanbase given he is not proven in the Premier League. Outlay of this kind is only usually reserved for the tried and tested strikers. Despite scoring 23 goals in 46 appearances this season, Kolo Muani is still a relative unknown at elite level.

But there are no doubts in Germany that the frontman can make the step up and adapt to potential new surroundings while his performances at the World Cup hinted at a player ready to make his mark on a big stage such as the Premier League.
