Manchester United defender Will Fish leaves on loan

Scottish Premiership side Hibernian have announced that they have re-signed Manchester United defender Will Fish.

The centre-back, who made 21 appearances during a loan spell at Easter Road last season, has returned to the club on another season-long deal, with the club to review his situation in January. He made a telling impression during his stint in Scotland last term, producing a series of solid performances, chipping in with three goals.

Fish, 20, has been training with United's first team during pre-season and started the 3-1 defeat to Wrexham in San Diego earlier this week. He also stepped off the bench at half-time in the victories over Leeds United and Lyon prior to the club's US tour.

Fish will benefit from a second season of earning regular first-team football, playing in a competitive environment. He has also spent time at Stockport County in the past.

On re-signing Fish, Hibernian boss Lee Johnson, speaking to their club website, said: "We're delighted to get this deal over the line and bring Will back to the club. During his first season with us he showed that he is a player with real quality, and he adds composure and consistency to our backline.

"Everyone at the club is looking forward to working with Will again and having him around the building."

The transfer window is in full swing and United have already got their hands on two players, with Mason Mount and Andre Onana through the door at Old Trafford
