Manchester United are set to make a big decision over the future of Old Trafford, with multiple plans being considered to bring it into the modern-day. The options that have been proposed include a full-scale refurbishment of every stand, but also a proposal that would see the stadium demolished and rebuilt again.
The potential demolition of their historic home has not gone down with some United fans, while others think it is necessary to fully solve all of the ground's problems. But if the club were to demolish Old Trafford, what would they do in the interim while 'New Trafford' was built.
The idea of a ground share has been floated by many fans on social media, similar to how Tottenham played their games at Wembley while their new stadium was constructed on the site of White Hart Lane. The issue comes from the potential options that United have available to them.

The most obvious option would be the Etihad Stadium, as it is the closest Premier League stadium with the fourth-highest capacity in the country. United would only have to deal with losing around 19,000 of their capacity of 74,140 in this move and this would appeal to some fans, as it would completely encompass all season ticket holders.
But there is a question of United pride and whether the fans would want to have to rely on their close rivals given the power shift in recent years. The club have called on Manchester City for help in the past, playing at Maine Road after bomb damage sustained during the Second World War and also during their maiden European campaign, as Old Trafford did not have the floodlights needed to host evening games.
