Manchester United could be set for £120m windfall if they sell another eight players

Manchester United have allowed 10 players to leave the club this summer, but can you name those who have departed?

Although the majority of supporters should get Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, David de Gea and Alex Telles, you get extra points for correctly naming Ethan Galbraith, Zidane Iqbal, Ethan Laird, Bjorn Hardley, Charlie Savage or Manni Norkett.

Considering their age, Iqbal and Savage were relatively high-profile departures, but some of those academy products never made their first-team debuts at Old Trafford and you'd be forgiven for not knowing they'd left.

Those departures have made room on the wage bill and De Gea was the world's highest-paid goalkeeper so his exit was significant. United obviously did not receive a transfer fee for the Spaniard but his large salary is finally off the books.

Just like De Gea, Jones, Tunazebe, Galbraith and Norkett left on free transfers following the expiry of their deals, which means the club have actually only received fees for half of the outgoings in this summer transfer window.

Telles was signed for £13.8million in October 2020 but has now joined Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr for £4m, Iqbal joined Utrecht for £860k, Laird joined Birmingham for £750,000 and nominal fees were banked for Hardley and Savage.

From those sales, £5.5m has been raised and that is set to be topped up by the imminent departure of Anthony Elanga, who completed his Nottingham Forest medical on Monday ahead of his £15m move to the City Ground.
