Manchester United confirm Mason Greenwood sale to Marseille after Sir Jim Ratcliffe decision
Manchester United have confirmed the sale of Mason Greenwood on a permanent deal to Marseille for €31.6m (£26.6m).
Greenwood travelled to France on Wednesday to complete his medical and he's signed a five-year contract with Marseille that will expire in the summer of 2029.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan with Getafe after United decided 'it would be most appropriate for him' to continue his career away from Old Trafford.
United made the decision to sell Greenwood this summer and the club believe his exit has delivered on their commitment that he would continue his career elsewhere. United have also inserted a sell-on clause into the deal to earn a sizable share of any future transfer.

After a spell away from the pitch, Greenwood eventually got back up to speed in Spain and contributed 10 goals and six assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.
Last summer, United planned to reintegrate Greenwood back into the squad, but they faced intense backlash to the decision and made a U-turn on his future. The Glazers delegated the decision on Greenwood to former CEO Richard Arnold and the Bristol University graduate left his boardroom role a few months later.
Greenwood briefly returned to Carrington for talks over his future this month and the curtains have been brought down on the academy graduate's time at the club. The forward leaves having made 129 senior appearances for United and he scored 35 goals since making his debut under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019.
