Manchester United confirm fixture details for Carabao Cup clash vs Newcastle United

Manchester United's Carabao Cup fourth round clash at home to Newcastle United will be held on Wednesday, November 1.

Erik ten Hag's side were handed a repeat of last season's final after beating Crystal Palace 3-0 on Tuesday evening. Goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro and Anthony Martial capped off a dominant performance from a much-changed Reds outfit.

The following evening, Newcastle booked their place in the draw after beating Manchester City 1-0 with Alexander Isak netting the winner. They then watched on to see an away trip to Old Trafford set up for the next round.

Following on from the draw, Sky Sports have decided to show the meeting live and have moved the fixture into their Wednesday evening slot. The game will kick off at 8.15pm, with West Ham United vs Arsenal also live that evening at 7.30pm.

The cup clash will be the second huge game at Old Trafford in a matter of days, with Ten Hag's side hosting City in the Manchester derby on the previous Sunday. It also kicks off a hugely important month of November in which includes trips to FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray in the Champions League group stages.

United brought home their first trophy in six years thanks to last year's Carabao Cup final win over the Magpies in February. Casemiro and Marcus Rashford scored two goals in six first-half minutes at Wembley and the Reds were relatively comfortable on the day.
