Manchester United can sign surprise Rasmus Hojlund partner for free

Manchester United may have found the perfect striker to help Rasmus Hojlund's development - and he's available on a free transfer. The young Danish forward joined United last summer in a £72million deal from Atalanta but struggled to adapt to life at Old Trafford which saw suggestions an experienced striker would join to help ease the burden.

Hojlund's displays in the Champions League offered hope though and goals in Premier League action soon followed. During January, Hojlund hit quite the purple patch with eight goals arriving in seven consecutive appearances and a further three arriving in the final six games of the season.

As a result, the 21-year-old ended the campaign with 16 goals in all competitions but United are still on the hunt to sign a striker. Welcoming a new midfielder and central defender is also expected to take place in Manchester with Jarrad Branthwaite and Joao Neves two of the main targets.

The £55million release clause in his contract is certainly affordable for most clubs but there appears to be some cheaper opportunities out there for United.

Experienced striker Antoine Griezmann could be available for as little as £12.8million due to a release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract. However, United could pay even less for a former Manchester City player who no longer has a club.
