Manchester United are capable of delivering just what Gary Neville wants from vs Man City

Too often in recent years Manchester United have entered the derby clash with Manchester City in hope rather than expectation.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure, the tide in Manchester has well and truly turned with the Blues the dominant force. Under Pep Guardiola, City have moved from strength to strength and have been mainly on top.

However, Erik ten Hag's first experience of this derby at the Theatre of Dreams ended in delight as Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford's late goals earned them the bragging rights. Since then, United have tasted defeat to City in the FA Cup final, a loss even more excruciating as it sent their rivals towards a historic Treble - matching the accomplishment of the Reds 1999 team.

United have won their last three matches on the spin and while the performances cannot be described as convincing, they have got the job done. Across the course of the season so far, the Reds have also demonstrated a trait which could serve them well against Guardiola's men.
