Manchester United and Casemiro would need one more transfer to complete dream midfield

If Manchester United's intentions are to sound a statement of intent before the transfer window slams shut in just under a fortnight's time, securing Casemiro's signature would do just that.

United, who will be determined to get last Saturday's 4-0 mauling at the hands of Brentford out of their system when they welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford on Monday night, are working on a deal to bring the Brazilian to Old Trafford, as they face a race against the clock to make sufficient additions to Erik ten Hag's squad. The Reds are advancing on a deal to land the 30-year-old and all of the noises being generated suggest that he is keen on the move, which is surprising when you compare the situations Madrid and United currently find themselves in.

Casemiro is keen on the idea of a new challenge and testing himself in the cut and thrust of the Premier League.
