Manchester United aiming to buy Mason Mount quickly to move onto second signing

Manchester United will have resources available to buy a striker should they complete the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea.

Despite ongoing uncertainty over United's ownership, the club are proceeding irrespective of the outcome due to financial fair play regulations that has left United operating on a tight budget again.

United want to sign a striker after tallying a modest 58 goals in 38 Premier League games last season, while Anthony Martial missed 33 of United's 62 matches through six separate injuries.

Ten Hag last month admitted he had been in dialogue with potential targets that were "keen" on joining United. Sources say the SEG International agency that represents Ten Hag are also trying to acquire Hojlund as a client in anticipation of a transfer.

Hojlund, 20, has struck 15 goals in 41 games for Atalanta, having only moved to Italy from Austrian side Sturm Graz
