Manchester United 'agree' contracts as transfer deemed 'impossible'

Manchester United are prepared to return to negotiations with Bayern Munich for duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

United have so far completed deals for Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkze from Lille and Bologna respectively. However, the excitement was quickly taken away after Yoro fractured his foot and will be out for three months. Rasmus Hojlund has also joined him on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury during pre-season.

Erik ten Hag and Co. remain keen to get more signings through the door before the summer transfer window slams shut on September 2. However, United's opening double offer to sign both De Ligt and Mazraoui was rebuffed.

Although the figure is unclear, Bayern informed their Premier League counterparts they will need a higher fee to reach an agreement. Talks are ongoing with Bayern in order to get a deal over the line but there is mounting confidence from the players' camp that it will soon be reality.

Elsewhere, Galatasaray are thought to be prepared to give up their pursuit for Scott McTominay. TEAMtalk state the Turkish giants believe a deal is 'impossible' due to United's asking price.

The report adds Galatasaray can only pay up to £13m (€15m) which is not a fee that the United chiefs are willing to consider. It is suggested that the club are demanding a fee of £25m.
