Although Bruno Fernandes started as a false nine in that opening game, Zirkzee could play down the middle against Brighton on Saturday afternoon at the Amex Stadium.

United claimed a 2-0 victory at Brighton on the final day of the 2023/24 Premier League season but didn't score in that game until Ten Hag abandoned playing Fernandes as a false nine.
