Manchester restaurant closes with heartbreaking 'we have failed' message after 'brutal' year
A popular pasta restaurant has announced the closure of another one of its Manchester restaurants. Pasta pros Rigantoni's has confirmed its site in Ancoats will close for good this weekend.
The restaurant, which started life as Sugo Pasta Kitchen, revealed earlier this year that it had closed its venue on Stanley Square in Sale, and in March it said it confirmed that its concession at the Exhibition food hall on Peter Street in the city centre would also be closing.
In an emotional post on social media this afternoon, the team behind Rigatoni's said the last 12 months had been 'brutal to say the least', and that it had 'failed' following a rebrand. It confirmed its Ancoats site would deliver its final service on Saturday, 25 May, while its Altrincham site will remain open.

In a post titled 'Statement from Us', co-owner Alex de Martiis wrote: "I know you all must be sick of the sight of yet another announcement from us, and I can definitely understand why.
"The last 12 months (and even going back to covid) have been brutal to say the least. We’ve been on a constant mission to try to make our restaurants sustainable - for us, for our customers, and for our staff, in what has felt like a massive uphill battle, in the midst of conditions that obviously have not been unique to us."
At the end of last year, the restaurant group said it would soon 'cease to exist', which sent customers into a frenzy.
